Halloween Carnival 2008

11/04/08 by Terri

On Saturday, October 25th St. Cecilia's was host to the 24th annual Halloween Festival. Our high school CYO members and our Junior High St. Francis club members turned the church hall into a children's carnival with face painting, games, yummy deserts, prizes, a costume contest. Father George stopped in to say hello. This was Father's first weekend back since his surgery and we were all so happy to see him. Mark your calendar for next year - it will be our 25th CYO Halloween Festival and we are planning a great one!

Autumn Updates

09/10/07 by Admin

Capital Campaign Status

We are proud to say that our successful Capital Campaign has begun to wind down. With 97% of the pledges collected we are so proud of our parish community! The contractor plans on finishing the bell tower area this fall to complete the renovation.

Because of our commitment to the Campaign we did not need any special consideration from the Diocese and we have real reason to celebrate! Therefore, mark your calendar for Sunday November 25th. It is the Feast of Christ the King and we will have a special "Celebratory Mass" at the 10 o'clock mass and cake and coffee reception to follow.

A weekend announcement in September will reveal more details...

Thanks again everyone!

May Updates

04/23/07 by MK

Capital Campaign: $31,833 short; Not bad for little ole Solvay, NY.

The Springfest was postponed due to some conflicts and will instead be renamed "Fallfest" and held sometime in September. Our roofing contractor, Josall of Syracuse, will return in mid-late May to complete the exterior portion of the project.

We are so grateful to everyone that participated in the "Sweepstakes" for the Campaign as it turned out to be a HUGE success!

One thing we have learned throughout this process is that our parish has wonderful people supporting it in many, many ways. More news to come!

Thanks again,
MK

Capital Campaign: Almost there!

Capital Campaign sees the "light" at the end of the tunnel!!

When spring arrives our renovation contractor, Josall of Syracuse, will return to our church to complete the exterior phase of work. The bell tower, flat roof and sheet metal work will be the focus.

We are pleased to report that all of the fundraising efforts to this point have been very successful. Therefore the end of the Campaign is in sight! The remaining work of the committee is to complete the "Sweepstakes", collect the "outstanding" pledges, organize the "Springfest" basket bazaar and finalize the profits to evaluate our success in achieving our $700,000 goal. While those tasks will be keep us busy; we are ready to finish the job! We hope that you will continue to support the project by participating in the remaining fundraisers associated with it and paying off your pledge.

Thank you! Great job! Think spring!
